The town of Orange Park is located in Clay County, Florida and is a suburb of Jacksonville, FL. Orange Park was founded in 1877 by the Florida Winter Home and Improvement Company. The town has roots dating back to the 1780s, when Orange Park was known as “Laurel Grove.” The town has grown dramatically since the early days and has emerged into the northeastern gateway to Clay County.
The name “Orange Park” is additionally applied to a wider area of northern Clay County outside the town limits, covering such communities as Fleming Island, Lakeside, Bellair-Meadowbrook Terrace and Oakleaf Plantation.
