Green Cove Springs is a city located in Clay County, FL. Green Cove Springs is named after it’s location: a bend in the St. Johns River that is sheltered by trees that are perennially green. A spring, locally known as the “Original Fountain of Youth,” attracted visitors to nearby hotels in the 19th century. Originally established as White Sulfur Springs in 1854, it was renamed Green Cove Springs in 1866. Every year the City hosts its Memorial Day RiverFest to honor military service personnel and veterans. The festival includes a parade of flags, food, music, fireworks, free swimming in the city pool, and much more.
